American Unrest
Across the country, from state to state, and city to city, the nation as a whole is angry. Angry for the fact that police are basically looking for any excuse to hurt, prosecute, and kill African-Americans. In Minneapolis we witnessed a police officer use a excessive amount of force on a single individual knowing very well that he was slowly killing George Floyd as he gasped for air. As the nation got ahold of this information, multiple cities started to protest from coast to coast, these protest soon gathered the attention of thousands who showed up to demand for the end of police brutality. Unfortunately, with the protestors also came the looters who set fires and robbed countless amount of stores across many cities including Santa Monica. According to the Los Angeles Times , “ In Santa Monica, they were often blocks apart. Looters in the shopping district on 4th Street appeared organized, smashing windows with crowbars and skateboards and loading stolen good into waiting cars. Fire
