The 3-Month Extension for Los Angeles.

As the country continues to battle the coronavirus, Los Angeles county has decided that it is in the best interest of the city and it people to extend the quarantine for another 3-months in order to safeguard and protect the lives of its citizens. Now, this has been meant with a large amount of backlash as many people want to return back to work and back to a normal life because the coronavirus has impacted them financially, mentally, and physically. I believe we will start to see many more protest sprout up across the country by people demanding that we go back to life before the virus similar to what we saw in Huntington Beach. According to Kellie Hwang from the San Francisco Chronicle, “ Of California’s 2,847 coronavirus deaths, 1,613 were in L.A. County and of the state’s 69,382 cases, 33,180 were there, through May 11. The Bay Area by comparison has 10,051 cases with 366 deaths through May 12.” It is more than obvious that it was necessary to continue to be cautions and extend the lockdown in order to keep people safe. However, I do wonder how many people will start to react negatively and start to speak up and protest these new rules that have been casted over them.
